Know The Lord

Know The Lord

Frank Borda

November 7, 2020

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after

those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write

them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My

people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother,

saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them

to the greatest of them.”

Hebrews 8:10-11

I want to share some good news with you. Every person who receives

Jesus as Savior and Lord comes into the family of God where God

becomes their Father. He reveals Himself to His children and they come to

know Him through relationship. The way we relate with Him is through a

life of worship with honest open hearted communication. By reading His

word, the Bible and praying to Him everyday our faith in Him grows strong

and we grow in His love. I know because that’s the story of my life that I

desire to share with all people, including you. God wants to have a

personal relationship with you! In fact, He created you for this, so that He

could live inside of you and share His divine life with you. Christianity is not

a religion about God, it’s a relationship with God. He is good and His

mercy to you is forever because He loves you and genuinely cares for you.

He wants you to live forever with Him in Heaven and He wants to walk with

you all the days of your life down here. He has a glorious plan for your life

and the first part of that plan is for you to know Him the same way He

knows you. That happens through a relationship with His Son Jesus

Christ. The reason I can say this with all assurance is twofold. First, He

said so in His word. Two, my personal testimony of having a relationship

with God and knowing Him! I have experienced His life changing love for

four decades which only grows stronger as time goes by. He lives in me

through His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

You need to know that the Bible is God’s word, which is His bond,

because He cannot lie. He is a truth teller and His truth makes us free. The

Bible is a record of His covenant with man through the ages. A covenant is

an agreement between God and man that can’t be altered. It’s a

relationship. In covenant, we share all that God has including His

protection in this evil world. In turn, we give our lives in service to Him so

that we may represent Him as those who know Him. He has the right to

command us and we must obey. That’s a very good thing because He is

good and would never ever harm us. As His followers we have the right to

His direction in life with the fulness of His blessing! His word also

expresses His heart of love, thoughts of peace, ways of life, laws of

protection, and plans of goodness for His people. In the New Testament

book of First John, which is a letter to Gods children, it says that God is

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who

loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know

God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us,

that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live

through Him.” (I John 4:7-9)

That’s awesome news! He doesn’t just have love, but He is the

personification and nature of love! It’s out of God’s love nature that He

created you and because that’s true, it’s also true that He knows you

deeply and intimately. You were fearfully and wonderfully made by Him.

Meaning, you are a living, breathing, walking miracle! He knows every part

of you. He knows your spirit and what inspires and drives you. He knows

your mind, how you think and what you think. He also knows and cares for

the well being of your body, your finances, your home, everything that

concerns you! He’s aquatinted with your sorrows and griefs as well as your

sicknesses and pains. He knows your hurts and disappointments, those

brought on by others and those which are self-inflicted. He understands

your weakness and limitations as well as your strengths and capacity. He

knows what you’re experiencing at any given moment and He knows

where you are right now. He desires to bind your wounds and make you

completely whole. More than that, He wants to make you new and give

you eternal life! All of that comes not through your own works but by His

grace through faith in His Son Jesus and His finished work of salvation. It’s

truly that simple and it costs you nothing because Jesus did the hard work

and completely paid the price for your salvation! He took your place and

mine in judgment when He suffered and died on the Cross for our sins. In

exchange, He gave us His life and perfect righteousness. That is right

standing with the Father God and the ability to stand right with Him in

close relationship. No longer living as a stranger to God, separated from

Him by your sin, but in union with Him as His innocent child. The blood of

Jesus has washed us clean and it’s as if we never even sinned. It’s a gift

exchange that comes from the heart of a good and loving Father God, so

you can know Him! Is that you? Do you want to know Him? I can tell you

we are born with an innate desire to know Him. If you do, right now He will

change your destiny and bring you all your heart desires and yearns for.

The scripture at the top of this article says that you can know the Lord for

yourself. That’s what God desires and it’s His invitation to every person on

the planet! I want to show it again with the words just before and after to

give you the full meaning of what the Lord is saying.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those

days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on

their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of

them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the

LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of

them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and

their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” (Hebrews 8:10-12)

What He’s saying is that you don’t need anyone else to go to God for

you and in fact, nobody can. Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, was

the one who did that for you because Gods Son is the only way to the

Father. Here’s what He said concerning Himself.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but

through Me.” (John 14:6)

The way that Jesus made a way for you to come was through the Cross,

where He said, “Father forgive them for they don’t know what they do.”

Then just before breathing His last He said, “It is finished”. This was not a

cry of defeat but rather a call of victory, meaning the work of Salvation was

accomplished and forever settled in Heaven! The Lord is good and His

tender mercies are forever. In His goodness He made a way for every

human being to be free from the sin that separates us from Him. That way

is a relationship with Him through our Lord and Savior Jesus. The

Apostle Paul, a man who had been a great sinner before his salvation

experience said this,

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship

of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain

to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:10-11)

This was the heart cry of a man who wanted nothing more than to know

the Lord! Why? Because when you really meet Him then all you want is to

know Him more and more. What you must understand is that to know Him,

you must come to the Cross and identify with the Lord in His death so that

you may be born again to experience the power of His resurrection and

eternal life. In closing I want to emphasize this is what God desires for you.

He isn’t looking to judge you but accept you as His child. Jesus took your

judgment so you could have His sonship. I want to share one more verse

from Gods word showing you this.

“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all

men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is

one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ

Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all...” (1 Timothy 2:3-6a)

God personally calls people to salvation. He may be calling you right now

as you read. If you’ll receive Him now and then come to know Him, I

promise you will be totally fulfilled and completely satisfied in life! Not

without trials or troubles but with peace and joy through fellowship with

God and His people, you’ll have answers to overcome and conquer the

evil that comes at you in this life. You will instantly come out of darkness

into the light of Gods life & glory! If you’re being controlled by destructive

habits and a lifestyle of sin, you’ll be delivered from the power of the devil

into the power of God! He will set you free right now and begin to turn your

whole life around! Jesus calls that Abundant Life, the life of God in you!

So I urge you, come to know the Lord for yourself today, right now! I’ve

written a salvation prayer for you to say out loud from your heart with faith.

Believe that God is listening to you because He is, and that He is giving

you exactly what you’re asking for, His gifts of forgiveness and eternal life

through Jesus! Pray this right now!

“Dear God I’m coming to you now in the name of your Son Jesus. I believe

that you are the only true and living God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Thank you for Your word and for loving me. I believe You are calling me

and I am coming to You with faith in my heart! Right now, I confess my sin

and ask you to forgive me and cleanse me from it through the blood of

Your Son Jesus that He shed on the Cross for me 2,000 years ago. I also

confess Jesus as my Savior and Lord and ask You to give me the free gift

of Your eternal life through His resurrection from the dead. Jesus, right

now, I turn to You as Lord, repenting of my sin and turning away from the

devil and darkness of this world. Thank you for shedding Your blood and

dying on the Cross for my sin. I will walk with You and serve You forever!

Thank you Lord for taking in your body the judgment I deserved. I believe

in you with all my heart and I love you! Lord, You are good and Your mercy

endures forever! Now God I say you are my Father and I am Your child!

Lord Jesus, I want to know You the way You know me, so please baptize

me and fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I can be a powerful witness for

you!” Right now, on the authority of the Word of God and as a minister and

servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, I tell you that you are saved! You will not

go to hell but to Heaven because you are forgiven and as innocent as a

new born baby! Your name is written in the Lambs Book of Life! You now

have Gods gift of Eternal Life and are now His very own child! I say,

welcome to Gods family! The blessing and gifts of God are yours as an

heir of God and joint heir with Jesus Christ! You have received all of these

and more with salvation.
